Delhi had it a little easy with the match reduced to six overs due to the rain-break but it was the spell from Vettori that turned the tide in their favour. Goel gave Punjab an excellent start, which was almost undone by the batsmen who followed, as they struggled after the first timeout to get it going. Delhi managed to restrict the opposition down to a reachable score, and Sehwag and Gambhir made easy work of it. They had started well before the rain, which made their task much easier after the target had been revised.

We're still waiting for the presentation, so stay tuned.

Yuvraj SIngh: "The break after six overs didn't help us as we lost momentum. Duckworth-Lewis gives the team batting second the advantage in these situations, Goel played well for us. Hopefully it'll be great for him. We had a great tournament last year, and hopefully this one will be the same. Brett Lee's working on his fitness, and as soon as he is ready, we'll play him."

Virender Sehwag: "I just told Gambhir to bat out the overs and that I'll go after the bowling. It's easier for the chasing team with the rain interruptions. I was prepared for a score of 120-130 even after that good start from Punjab, as we have a good batting line-up to it down. We are hoping to play the finals here if we keep continuing like this."

Daniel Vettori is the Man of the Match, no surprises there.

Vettori: "It's nice to have Sehwag and Gambhir in our side, after I bowled to them last series. The spinners are going to play a huge part in the tournament. Spinners have adapted better than anyone else to Twenty20 and they'll have a major influence in this competition. We have a highly strong team, with even great players sitting out, so that says something."

Thanks for tuning in folks, and sending us all your feedback. There's just a bit more time left before Deccan Chargers take on Kolkata Knight Riders. I'll see you there then. Until then, it's goodbye from Siddhartha Talya on the commentary, and Raghav from the scoring desk. See ya!

Breathe easy folks, no tactical breaks now. Thank god. Chawla into the attack

  • Wasted time

The time-out as it has been presented is nonsensical enough. But when rain is in the air, as it was at Newlands on Sunday, it becomes a self-defeating fiasco and a triumph for sheer greed over the paying public
