17.4 to RS Bopara, walks across his stumps, looking to ramp this... but ends up dollying a catch to short third man! Full and wide from Rampaul and Bopara had to change his mind, initially wanting to go leg side. Looped up for a simple catch in the end. 141/5

8.1 to CS Delport, full and wide, humped down the ground - picks out long-off! Hughes makes the breakthrough for Derbyshire, and Delport is a goner. Attempting to go big but never looked like clearing the ropes, well taken on the run by Reece. 78/1 13.2 to T Westley, wide of the stumps, 72mph and top-edged to short third man! Hughes does it again, deploying the knuckle ball this time! Skidded on and then looped gently off the bat as Lawrence miscued a flat-footed swipe to depart cheaply. 107/4

11.2 to RN ten Doeschate, trapped on the back foot, given! Done by a cutter and it looked just in line... Reece's angle pays off immediately as Essex lose their third wicket. 96/3 13.2 to T Westley, goes leg side, swung into the air... simple catch at deep backward square! Westley goes now, Essex beginning to stumble towards the final phase. Reece has his second, intelligent bowling; Westley walks off shaking his head in frustration. 107/4 |

3.1 to BA Godleman, bowled 'im, strikes first ball! That's what pace off can do... Perfectly pitched and spinning away as Godleman attempted to make room for himself. Batsman misses, the ball kisses the top of middle and off, and Essex have their second breakthrough in the Powerplay. 30/2 7.4 to JL du Plooy, timbeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr! That's a beauty from Harmer, ragging from leg stump to hit off! Flight and dip and spin and that's curtains for du Plooy - and maybe for Derbyshire!. 66/4 7.5 to AK Dal, two in two, bowled through the gate coming down! No sooner has Dal got to the crease than he's got to head back, a golden duck on Finals Day and Essex are cock-a-hoop here. Floated up enticingly and Dal was suckered, playing all around a ball that hit middle and leg stumps. 66/5 17.1 to D Smit, tossed up, Smit reverse-sweeps - picks out backward point! Harmer pumps his fists, does the job straight away, ending a useful stand for the ninth wicket to put Essex on the brink. 118/9

Big comeback from the young man and Derbyshire lose their third wicket early doors. 48/3 10.4 to MJJ Critchley, bowled him, sneaks another one through! Tossed up and gripping a touch as Critchley aims a slog-sweep across the line, hears the death rattle behind him. 81/6 12.4 to AL Hughes, tosses up the bait, lures him down - sets up a simple stumping! Nijjar has a third and Essex are closing in here. Hughes roundly done by some flight and just enough turn. 86/7
