Presentation:
De Villiers: "I'm proud of the way we fought back. We lost it in the last five overs. Captaincy wise one or two errors there."
Hafeez: "We played couple of bad shots but great team effort. I knew that Gul could hit it hard. This is good sign that everybody is contributing. We did well to restrict them, in the end Pakistan was lucky to get this."
Gul is the Man of the Match: "I must thank to my coach. I told Akmal that we should stay at the crease, the flick is my favourite shot."
Pakistan can celebrate this tonight, but really they should have a look at some of the shots played by the top order. They treated it like a T10 slogathon. Shouldn't have been this close. Plenty for both teams to think about.
Don't go anywhere. India v Australia coming up. Cheers!
End of match: Umar Akmal may have stayed there till the end to give Pakistan the reassurance that a specialist was around, and due credit to him, but take your hat off to Umar Gul. Out of the blew, he produced some clean blows over the on side and had the South Africans paralysed. The equation was reducing rapidly with every six and the South Africans panicked.
You look at the bowling figures and wonder why on earth Botha and Duminy bowled only two overs each for not much. De Villiers will be grilled for his management of the bowlers surely.
Pathan: "Un-b****y-believable. The amount of adrenalin that has been pumped around my body watching Pakistan over the years could power half of Karachi! Afridi is a real disgrace. I hope he is demoted to number 11 in the next match."
