Pakistan Women 138 for 9 (Mir 34, Kumari 3-24) beat Sri Lanka Women 126 (Manodara 38, Maroof 3-14, Yousuf 3-28) by 12 runs
Pakistan Women secured an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three ODI series against Sri Lanka Women, defending a total of 138 runs for a 12-run victory in the second match in Sharjah.
Pakistan's top-three batters contributed only 14 runs between them after captain Sana Mir won the toss and opted to bat. Their middle order, led by Mir's 34 and Nain Abidi's 29, then anchored the innings. Abidi scored the bulk of the runs during a 39-run, third-wicket partnership with Bismah Maroof, before being dismissed by Shashikala Siriwardene. Pakistan's batters also struggled to lift the scoring rate and the fastest partnership for Pakistan came for the sixth wicket between Mir and Asmavia Iqbal, as the pair added 38 runs in 9.2 overs.
Unlike Pakistan, Sri Lanka's top three contributed and got starts before being dismissed. However, the rest of the line-up failed to contribute to the chase, and apart from Dilani Manodara who top-scored with 38, only three other batters could score more than 10. Maroof picked up 3 for 14 with her legspin, while left-arm spinner Sadia Yousuf took 3 for 28.
