Hasini Perera player profile

On the back of a couple of good domestic 50-over competitions, promising left-hand batter Hasini Perera was called-up to the Sri Lanka side in 2014. She made her T20I debut in April at the T20 World Cup, scored heavily in seven List A games for Palink Sports Club, and then made her ODI debut in October.

In December 2015, she topped the batting charts in Sri Lanka's Zonal T20 tournament. But a poor white-ball tour of New Zealand in November 2015, where she scored ten runs in four innings across formats - including two ducks in two T20Is - meant she was left out of the Sri Lanka's squad for T20 World Cup 2016. However, she was not only called back in September that year, but also captained Sri Lanka in the Women's Asia Cup in December 2016. She scored a half-century opening the batting against Thailand.

She played the T20 World Cups in 2018 and 2020, and was also part of the ODI World Cup in 2017. Over the years, Perera failed to live up to expectations and has been in and out of the national side, unable to cement her spot.
