Naman Ojha's unbeaten 114 helped Madhya Pradesh beat Uttar Pradesh by eight wickets to throw open the group. UP, who were sent in to bat, recovered from a top-order wobble. to post 211 courtesy half-centuries from Umang Sharma and Akshdeep Nath (67). Himachal Pradesh handed Saurashtra their first loss of the tournament, cruising to a seven-wicket win in Rajkot. Choosing to bat, Saurashtra failed to kickstart their innings as HP's bowlers kept chipping at their wickets from the eight over, dismissing them for 195. Cheteshwar Pujara top-scored with 73, but apart from him only one batsman managed to cross 20, as pacers Rishi Dhawan and Ronit More picked up three wickets apiece.
Himachal chased down the 196-run target with relative ease as Ankush Bains piloted most of the chase with a 76 that included six fours and two sixes. After Bains departed in the 34th over, Robin Bist's 45 took HP within 15 runs of the target, before he was dismissed in 40th over.
