Well, that would have been much clser than Justin Langer would have liked but the Scorchers have got home easily in the end to register their first victory of the campaign.

Scorchers captain Simon Katich heaps praise upon his bowlers who did a fantastic job with Michael Beer, Alfonso Thomas and Hilton Cartwright grabbing two wickets each.

For the Sixers, O'Keefe, Moran and Lee added handy twenties but it wasn't enough in the end as Gibbs (40), Marsh (26) and North (23) ensured the Scorchers will be singing their victory song tonight.

The Sixers' spin attack made life difficult for the Scorchers batsmen and when Narine, Mendis and O'Keefe have a few more runs to bowl at, they will be a dangerous trio.

Michael Beer collects a Man of the Match award courtesy of his two for 19 from four overs. He picked up the prized scalp of Bard Haddin and Dan Smith as both players looked to play against the turn and were caught in the off side off the leading edge.

Thanks again for joining us this evening. We take a break tomorrow night before the Big Bash League road show heads to Brisbane where the Heat face tonight's winners, the Perth Scorchers. This is Marc Ellison signing off. Good luck and god speed.
