short on middle, defended off the back foot to cover
NSW vs Eagles, 2nd Match, Group B at Delhi, Oct 09 2009 - Ball by Ball Commentary
A comprehensive win for Australia's Twenty20 champions. 145 was a competitive target but more was expected from the Eagles, who struggled from the outset in their chase. Only two Eagles batsmen reached double-figures, with Ryan McLaren top scoring with 40. No doubt it wasn't the best track to bat on, but just a cursory glance at the scorecard will indicate how bleak the surrender was.
We apologise again for the loss of commentary. Blame it on technology!
The presentation is about to begin. Bipasha Basu makes a special appearance.
Dippenaar: "I thought we bowled well at stages. We still have a good chance of making the next ground so it's important we learn quickly. We'll come back strongly on Tuesday."
Katich is also the Man of the Match for his 53 and two direct hits: "Our bowlers did a great job in the first six overs. Clark did a fantastic job, Lee upfront was magnificent."
7.15pm: Part 2 of the double header coming up very shortly between Delhi Daredevils and Victoria Bushrangers. The toss should happen in 15 minutes. Thanks for your company. Cheers guys.
Slower ball and he forces it down to mid-on
Full on the pads and he pushes it hard to the on side
McLaren goes for broke but lands it down long-off's throat, he clears his back leg and scoops it flat and quick to Hauritz
comes down the pitch to swing him away but he fails to read the slower ball, swishes at thin air
fires it on the leg stump and he manages to dig it out to the in side
makes room and taps it down to the covers
he waltzes down the pitch and takes Lee to the butcher's, he bangs it in short and clubs it so hard past the bowler and mid-on
We apologise for the delay/loss in commentary due to technical issues
bowled it full on middle, driven hard but straight to midwicket
comes round the wicket and hurls a bouncer, the batsman evades it well
on middle and leg, worked away to deep square leg, one more
The match is over and done with, just the formalities to be completed
sees him coming down and bowls it wide, reaches for it, gets a thick outside edge to third man for a single
slower one bowled on a good length on the off, pushed to cover
on middle and leg, clipped away towards deep square leg for a couple of runs
shortish on the off stump, tries to whack it through cover, makes no contact
Terrific shot! Lee fires it from round the wicket and McLaren cheekily paddle scoops it from outside off on one knee and clears short fine leg
