17-Jun-2011
The Friends Life t20 game between Somerset and Surrey at Taunton was abandoned without a ball bowled because of a saturated outfield. Umpires Michael Gough and Nigel Cowley inspected at 5.50pm and, by the time they looked again at 6.30pm, the rain which had been falling steadily for much of the afternoon had got heavier, leaving them with no alternative but to call the match off.
It was the third Somerset home game in succession in the competition to be washed out.
