42.3 to HG Munsey, Well it's not Leask but it will do! Munsey is castled by this fantastic inswinging yorker. That's 14 ODIs in a row in which Ngarava has picked up at least one wicket. Incredible consistency.. 168/6
9 | 0 | 49 | 0 | 5.44 | 32 | 8 | 0 | 1 | 0 | |

16.1 to CM McBride, McBride makes a mess of his stumps! Chatara snags Scotland's first wicket with a jaffa! Lands it on a hard length and gets it to jag back prodigiously, beats his bat and flattens the middle stump. What a sight for the bowler! Absolutely bamboozled. Pressure was building up and Chatara gets reward for his disciplined bowling. The ball kept a bit low and he couldn't get behind the line leaving a big gap between bat and pad. 56/1 48.4 to MA Leask, This time though he holes out! Pace-off full toss this time, looks to swipe it over deep midwicket again, but he can't clear Madhevere. 216/8

25.1 to MH Cross, Cross is castled! Goes across the line on the slog sweep, but this is a quicker and fuller to a similar one in the previous over, and this sneaks under the bat and hits the middle of middle stump. 102/2 27.1 to B McMullen, McMullen holes out! Williams has his second, as this length ball is slog swept high and to the right of long-on. Muzarabani makes good ground to his right and completes this take on the dive. Brilliant work by the big man. Big loss for Scotland.. 105/3 31.3 to RD Berrington, Swings big but doesn't control his bat and Kaia at long-off is called into action, he lunges forward and gobbles it up, as easy as you like. You could sense a wicket was around the corner as the dots were piling up and he tried a jailbreak shot but didn't get all of it. 118/4

0.1 to J Gumbie, Starts off with a crackerjack! Spears in a scorching delivery on a shorter length, he goes feeling for it and edges it to the keeper, Cross takes a sharp catch behind the stumps and Gumbie has to go without troubling the scorers! That was absolutely unplayable, fast and ferocious, gets enough sideways movement, squared him up and got him in a tangle. 0/1 2.2 to CR Ervine, Sounds the death rattle! This is absolutely stunning bowling! Pitched up, perfect seam position, it nipped back and went through his defence and he is pumped up! He revels in the ecstasy and his teammates rush to join him! Zimbabwe finds themselves in a spot of bother, they need to weather this storm!. 13/2 6.2 to SC Williams, Castled! 149kph thunderbolt and he cannot jam his bat down quick enough to block this snorter! Williams has to take the long walk back into the pavilion! This is serious pace and a crucial breakthrough for Scotland. My goodness, this has got to be one of the best opening burst I have seen in this World Cup qualifier!. 29/3

7.5 to I Kaia, Pitched on a shorter length and it jags back sharply, thumping has pads and eliciting an appeal! Umpire doesn't take long to raise the finger but Kaia has decided to use the review, three reds on the screen and the on-field decision stands! Zimbabwe in dire straits early in their innings. What a potent bowling combination; at one end you have hostile pace of Sole and at the other McMullen is troubling them with cleverly varying his line and length at a dibbly-dobbly pace. 37/4 35.1 to WP Masakadza, Summons a well disguised slower one angling in from outside off, he gets stuck on the crease and plays across the line, gets the splice of the bat and it fountains straight up and fell into Berrington's hands who takes the simplest of catches at short cover much to the delight of the bowler. Zimbabwe stare into the abyss!. 177/7

41.1 to TL Chatara, Hits a shorter length, it jags back viciously and pings the top of off! He wheels away into the arms of converging teammates! Scotland beat Ireland, West Indies and now another full member Zimbabwe! It's a heartbreaking moment for Zimbabwe as they realize they will not be booking a ticket to the World Cup in India. The realization sinks in, and a stunned silence fills the crowd. The dream of representing their country on the showpiece event has come crashing down. They were hot favorites to qualify for the World Cup but they miss out narrowly from making it to the marquee event. This tense game was an absolute roller coaster ride from start to finish. It was filled with thrilling ups and downs, ebbs and flows, twists and turns that kept us all on the edge of our seats!. 203/10

30.1 to W Madhevere, Tossed up from round the wicket, fuller and goes on with the arm as he tries to target that knee roll, big gap between bad and pad, hits him plumb in front of the stumps and the finger goes up. Madhevere sends it upstairs. There are three reds on the big screen and Scotland has managed to uncouple this threatening partnership. They are right back in the game! The match has been an absolute rollercoaster, with momentum shifting back and forth between these teams. Just when it seemed Zimbabwe had the upper hand, this wicket has changed the complexion of the game. 164/6

17.5 to Sikandar Raza, Greaves gets the big one! This was tossed up outside off, looking to buy a wicket and he does! Raza slaps this hard and high, but it's not far enough on the long straight boundaries - some 80m - as Mackintosh makes no mistake at long-off. 91/5

36.2 to R Ngarava, Tossed up delivery on middle and he merrily chips it back to the bowler! Another one bites the dust! Jubilation for Leask and Ngarava stands there in disbelief! Scotland just two wickets away from a memorable win. A nifty catch from Leask off his own bowling, sharp reflexes as he lets out a very loud scream and vicious fist-bump. 182/8 38.4 to RP Burl, One big shot too many? Tries to continue in the imperious fashion but Leask sticks to his guns, lures him to go for the slog sweep again, this time he didn't get underneath it and mistimes it to McMullen at midwicket. That looks like the last nail in the coffin. He is in despair, slowly walking back into the dressing room. Once again, Scotland manage to find ways to break partnership. I can't imagine what Burl is going through. 197/9 |
