chaos with a runout to end it! India advance to their 8th U19 World Cup Final and their fourth in a row! Length ball on fourth stump miscued to mid-off, the non-striker Whitney sets off for a run while Nisbet is statuesque at the striker's end ball-watching. IND Under-19 vs AUS Under-19, 2nd Semi-Final at Coolidge, U19 WC, Feb 02 2022 - Match Result
4.08 pm Clinical from India, who now advance to the tournament final on Saturday to take on England, who are searching for their first title since 1998. Australia meanwhile will go back to the third place game against Afghanistan on Friday.
Player of the Match is Yash Dhull
Australia captain Cooper Connolly: "Going into the last 10, we thought we were in a pretty good position. But they got the upper hand on us and scored 100 in the last 10 and I reckon 290 was a bit too much for us. It's been good. The only problem is the bubble. We'd like to go out and experience the West Indies a bit more but other than that it's been pretty good. There's a lot of positives. We adapted well to conditions pretty quickly, every session got better."
That's it from me and Hemant Brar today. Enjoy the day off tomorrow before U19 World Cup coverage on ESPNcricinfo resumes on Friday when Australia returns to the Coolidge Ground to take on Afghanistan in the third place match. Until then, I'm Peter Della Penna. Take care!
