Sri Lanka are through to the semi-finals, that was a sorry end to the NZ innings, a full toss on the pads is swung away towards long-on, Mills was coming back for the second but a direct hit from Angelo Mathews catches him short
Sri Lanka vs New Zealand, 23rd Match, Group F at Nottingham, Jun 16 2009 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Post-match presentation:
Daniel Vettori: 160 was a gettable target, we got off to a decent start but the capitulation in the middle left us with no chance. They bowled well and deserved to win, and we didn't take any of our opportunities against the top teams.
Sangakkara: Great batting performance to start off with. We really stuck it out there. It was probably a bad option to open the bowling with Sanath, but we always knew that once the field spread out we could always pull them back.
Ajantha Mendis is the Man of the Match for his wonderful spell of 3 for 9. This is Sri Lanka's fifth win on the trot, and put them on the top of Group F.
