Thats it, it's all over!! Lahore are the ICL Champions!!! Full toss on leg stump, Nazir does a repeat of a six off an earlier ball in the over, pulling it over mid wicket for his eleventh six!
ICL Hyd vs Lahore, 3rd Final at Ahmedabad, Nov 16 2008 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Lahore won by 8 wickets (with 37 balls remaining)
Nazir finishes with an unbeaten 111, and is single-handedly responsible for this one-sided third final. 158 seemed like a challenging score, but Lahore made a mockery of it, winning with more than six overs to spare. They were itching to make amends for their loss yesterday, and they have done so in style.
Imran Nazir is the Man of the Match. No surprises there.
Nazir: "I wanted to play my natural game today, after getting out early in the last few games. I have a lot of support from my team-mates. I'd like to thank the crowd too for the way they have supported us throughout this tournament."
All the Hyderabad Heroes players being felicitated now for making it to the finals. Chris Harris collects the runners-up trophy.
Harris: "Nazir's innings is one of the best I have seen, he hit the ball beautifully. We thought we posted a good total, but Nazir was unstoppable. We tried everything to get him out, but he played a fantastic knock. We put in a really good performance in this competition, and I'd like to thank my players and all the support staff and hopefully we'll come back strongly next season."
Rana Naved is the Man of the Series.
Naved: "We didn't start well in the tournament but we fought back. Everybody chipped in, and I was happy I made a contribution in my team's win. I was able to bowl well in the final overs thanks to some good experiences bowling at the death for Pakistan and for my team in this competition. I'd like to thank my team-mates for all their support."
Inzamam: "We didn't expect to win so easily. But the credit goes to the openers, especially Imran Nazir, who played the kind of innings we don't get to see very often. We have no differences with Hyderabad after the last match, but we were eager to win this one. We trained really hard, practiced extensively at the nets and ran through some special drills. I'd like to thank the people of Ahmedabad for the way they supported this tournament as well as our time. We've had a wonderful time here. I'd also like to thank the whole support staff and the coach for helping us throughout."
Now the Badshah players are being handed their medals for winning the competition.
Kapil Dev hands Inzamam the winner's cheque and the ICL trophy.
The Lahore Badshahs rejoice as the presenter Dean Jones' voice is muted by the fireworks in the background
The Badshahs do a lap of honour around the ground. That's all we have from here folks. It's been fun bringing you the ball-by-ball coverage for the tournament, and on behalf of everybody at Cricinfo, Goodbye and Goodnight!!
