7.05pm: Test cricket. It is what it is, baby. India lording it at Lord's, but that's not where this story ends. Time for a breath, and a break - the teams will regroup and go again at Headingley in nine days' time. For now, head over to Varun Shetty's report, and stick around for the further hosannas (not to mention the England autopsy, which Miller has already begun). Thanks for your comments, it's been a pleasure as always. From Sid and myself, Thilak, Varun and the rest, take it easy and we'll be back for more soon. Cheerio!

6.50pm: Time for the presentations. Still three more Tests to come, remember! Starting with England captain Joe Root: [Dressing room nerves?] "You're always trying to find ways to deal with things like that, we couldn't see out the day which was frustrating but a lot of cricket to play and we'll come back hard. [Morning meltdown] A lot on my shoulders, as captain you take responsibility, tactically we could have done things differently - we went from a position where we could win to being behind. [Antagonism?] More than anything we got a few things wrong, credit to them [Shami and Bumrah], they played well for that partnership. But I'd do things differently. [Wood and Moeen] They threw everything into the Test, Mark's hurt himself, but his attitude was great, seeing Mo playing the way he has was encouraging. [Series] We've found ourselves in this position before and come out on top. Be patient, learn the lessons and be better next time.

India captain Virat Kohli: "Super proud of the whole team, the way we stuck to our plans, being put in our performance with the bat was outstanding. Pitch didn't offer much on first three days. But the way we played in the second innings, under pressure, from Jasprit and Shami was outstanding. We thought with 60 overs to go we could have a crack, and they were outstanding. A bit of tension on the field really motivated us to finish the game. [Clapping Shami and Bumrah off] Wanted to let them know that we appreciated what they did, and they took the new ball and made breakthroughs for us. When we were most successful, our lower order was contributing, we went away from that a bit away from home but they are putting in the hard work with the coaches. The belief and the desire is there, to do the job for the team. [Lord's victories] Last time was special, Ishant bowled outstandingly. But this one, to get a result in 60 overs, is quite special. With someone like Siraj playing at Lord's for the first time and bowling as he did was outstanding. We decided 60 was our mark, crucial breakthroughs were great for us and we carried on from there. Second half of the day, we thought we were on top and our fans got behind us. We feed off the energy of the crowd as well. [Independence Day win] The best gift we can give to India, but we have three more Test matches and we can't sit on our laurels. [Robinson review] That one was gut feel but I like to go with my instinct."

KL Rahul is Player of the Match: [Honours board] "I've been looking at it every morning to see if they've put it up permanently. Really happy that the hundred could set up a victory for India. Put into bat we had to go out and give the team a good start and put up a total, the opening partnership was really crucial. We've been here for couple of months, been working hard on our skills. At Trent Bridge we showed discipline, really pleased and happy we could go out and put up a performance like that. [On-field chat?] With two competitive teams you're going to see a lot of heart and great skills and some words. We don't mind a bit of banter, but if you go after one of our guys all eleven will come right back. That got us going, and the bowlers were really pumped to go out and have a crack. Really happy with the performance."

6.37pm: The old rope-a-dope. A brilliant comeback to cap a Test classic. India were supposed to be there for the taking, but they gave England the slip and the backed them into a corner before handing out a hiding. They go 1-0 up in the series, but how painful will defeat be for England, after they came here this morning looking for victory? Another historic overseas win for India, their first at Lord's since 2014 and only a third overall. It's been all about the pace attack for Kohli's team, but few sensed it would be an unbroken ninth-wicket stand with the bat between Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah that would provide the spark. England lost the plot during that stand, and then lost both openers within two overs of the declaration. It all spiralled from there. England's first Test defeat after a Joe Root century, by the way. Lost the toss, conceded a deficit, struggled in the third innings... India have truly done it the hard way. But that'll make victory taste all the sweeter

Over to you guys for a bit. Here's Santhosh LN: "Still remember yesterday's comment from cricinfo where Buttler was screaming 'two to Shami' when Rahane and Pant was playing. Now it's clear that Buttler was warning his team"

"Strange times! India won the 2nd test without losing the 1st test," gurgles CasualFan

Siddharth: "Appreciation for Rahane-Pujara to bat with such grit and stick to their game yesterday in that situation when millions are calling for them to be fired from the team"

"How many times will we see tail enders take the game from England," sighs Adam. "Whether its Warne, Agar, Tino Best or today's events. With a new ball it was unfathomable"

"India have drawn the first Test at Trent Bridge and won the second Test at Lord's. Just like 2014..." notes Ellis. Where's an under-fire Alastair Cook when you need him?

"Bumrah is my MoM for the sheer brilliance of getting under England's skin and forcing a collective brain fade, and then following it up with some brilliant batting and bowling," chirps Sravan. "But, Siraj it would be for the 8 wickets."

Siraj to Anderson, OUT

pegs back off stump! India have sealed the deal with room to spare! Siraj goes bang-bang for the final time in a Test full of dramatic doubles... Perfect line from round the wicket, and he streaks through to pluck out a stump for himself! Kohli is doing a victory dance, along with the rest of his team. From staving off defeat in the morning, they've knocked England over inside 52 overs for a 151-run win! Extraordinary

James Anderson b Mohammed Siraj 0 (3b 0x4 0x6 6m) SR: 0

Lord's is a cauldron, you can hear the nerves and the excitement. Loud cheers for the Anderson dot

Siraj to Anderson, no run

back of a length, doesn't get up that much, Anderson blocks from the crease

Short leg and forward short leg, plus a leg slip

Siraj to Anderson, no run

fires this down full from over the wicket, Anderson feels for it and is beaten

Out comes Anderson. India one wicket away from what would be their third Test victory at Lord's

Siraj to Buttler, OUT

feels for it fatefully outside off! Gone! Siraj has broken through pretty much England's last line of defence, and Kohli is wide-eyed on the Lord's outfield once again! The drop won't matter now... Instead of the in-ducker, Siraj got the ball to hold its line and Buttler couldn't prevent himself from following it

Jos Buttler c †Pant b Mohammed Siraj 25 (96b 3x4 0x6 148m) SR: 26.04
Siraj to Buttler, no run

length, coming back in off a scrambled seam, Siraj goes up for lbw... heading down leg

Mohammed Siraj can return now. Buttler is still out there, his finger in the dam. Leg slip, two men catching in front of the bat

Bumrah to Wood, no run

over the wicket, length ball on off stump and he jabs it down

India two away, Mark Wood comes out. There's going to be a Bumrah showdown with Jimmy at some stage, isn't there?

Bumrah to Robinson, OUT

slower ball, Robinson is hit in front... umpire Illingworth shakes his head but Bumrah begs for a review. Did it pitch in line? Did it pitch in line? If so, this is a genius bit of bowling. It did land on leg stump, an offcutter with that same fast arm, and smashing into the back leg. Three reds on Hawk-Eye, hitting middle stump two-thirds of the way up, and India have broken the stand! Brilliantly done, the last thing Robinson was expecting and he was completely flummoxed

Ollie Robinson lbw b Bumrah 9 (35b 0x4 0x6 66m) SR: 25.71
Bumrah to Robinson, (no ball)

another leg-side bouncer that he's able to evade. But it'll be bowled again, as Bumrah has overstepped

Bumrah to Robinson, no run

hammers it in very short, trampolines up over the ducking Robinson

Bumrah to go round the wicket, silly mid-off/short point comes in

Bumrah to Robinson, no run

full length on off stump, Robinson is forward and smothers the half-volley calmly, no interest in scoring from it

Bumrah to Robinson, no run

full now, just outside off and he shuffles into line, prods it away

Bumrah to Robinson, no run

flings this down short, veering back in and Robinson ducks, needs a flying leg-side take from Pant

Couple of men go out on the hook for Bumrah. Still two slips in plus leg slip and a short leg

"It's cloudy over here in Bangalore. Can we fedex some clouds to Lord's to make it more interesting??" But then, Virat, there's a chance they'd go off for bad light

Sharma to Buttler, no run

full and straight, blocked back down the track... Ten overs to go from this point. I think we might be playing beyond 6.57pm

Sharma to Buttler, 2 runs

targets the stumps again, 81mph/30kph, Buttler eases it back down fine of mid-on for a couple - even though runs are no longer part of the equation

Sharma to Buttler, no run

slightly short, a foot or so outside off, Buttler turns his back on it

Here's Jared: "Very astute innings from Buttler irrespective of the result. His technique looked very muddled in the earlier innings and he looks like he's cleared that up, good news for England for the rest of the series."

Sharma to Buttler, no run

length ball angling in on the stumps, maybe keeps a fraction low. Don't miss those...

Sharma to Buttler, no run

just back of a length, kicks up to hit the bat label as Buttler defends on off

Sounds like Siraj had been off the field, and has to now wait until he can bowl

Sharma to Robinson, 1 run

fires this down on middle and leg, tucked around the corner

Now then, Mohammed Siraj. The firestarter. The man who makes things happen No, Siraj takes his jumper back, Ishant will bowl another...

"Will it all come down to Kohli's drop catch? I hope not. Man!! this game's one for ages." Stay with us, Siddarth. What's past is past. Still another chapter to write...

Bumrah to Buttler, no run

short ball, the line is wide of off, nothing doing

Bumrah to Buttler, no run

bangs this down in the channel, stays low but the line is wide and again Buttler can shoulder arms
