10:30pm Big loss for India to kick off their England tour. However, it is just the start and there's plenty of scope to come right back. The first of those chances will be coming in the second T20I on Tuesday. That's all from us for tonight. Alan's report will be up here soon. See ya for the next game. Ciao, peeps!

Harmanpreet Kaur, India captain: "We were not able to get the runs we were expecting. I just feel we forcefully played because it conditions were not 100% fit to play. I am happy the girls put in the efforts and they played despite there being chances of getting injured. You need to have team-mates that play in whatever conditions. It was not 100% conditions, the ground was too wet and there were chances of getting injured. And one of our fielders got injured and we turned out one bowler short."

Amy Jones, England captain: "It is important to start well and the girls did that. I think I am very quiet in all aspects of life. The girls know that it comes naturally to me and the girls stepped up, which made it easier. Lots of girls chipped in with inputs. Just took in the information and tried to read the game. We kept them to a good score. The pitch was a bit skiddy and we had to play straight. Danni at the start was great, Dunks played confidently as well. It is an unbelievable top three with the form they are in."

Sarah Glenn, player of the match: "I thought we did very well as a unit. It was difficult to grip the bowl and tried to bowl stump to stump. Eccelstone is crucial for our team. Despite being of similar age, I look up to her and take notes. I knew the conditions out there and if we'd play our game, we'd be fine."

10:18pm Annihilation for India in the series opener! And it is mainly down to their fielding in the chase. A target of 133 should have been more challenging that it was made to seem, thanks to the no-ball early on first up that reprieved Dunkley. Then a couple of possible chances and poor fielding meant that England had to break little sweat to romp home. Dunkley eventually ended with 61 no out with Capsey impressing yet again. Earlier, it was Glenn's four-wicket haul - her T20I-best figures - that helped England restrict India after opting to bowl. On a slowish surface, stroke-making was difficult once Mandhana was dismissed and it took a late cameo from Deepti to help them to a defendable score. But it was not to be.
