Full commentary

And that's all we have for you from a record-breaking ILT20 evening in Sharjah. There's a double-header tomorrow. So do join us for that. Until then, on behalf of our scorer Binoy George, this is Aaditya Narayan signing off. Take care, stay safe, goodbye!

Avishka Fernando is the player of the match, obviously (Bhanuka Rajapaksa is translating for him): Wanted to play my natural game. Thank God for what happened. The wicket was nice to bat on, when they scored 200, had to play positively, came naturally, and thankful for that. Didn't realise that he'd broken the fastest 50 record, happy with the performances.

Tim Southee: He (Avishka) got off the plane this morning. There's plenty to improve on for us, the fielding and with the ball, but it's always easy to do that after a win. It was a good wicket. If you executed with the ball, it made it slightly harder. Shai Hope played beautifully. Fernando for us was outstanding. To see guys come in and do well shows the depth of the squad.

Sikandar Raza: I thought it was a very good total. You normally don't see 202 in Sharjah, I was pretty confident it's a good score and we should have been able to win this game. Shai has been a fantastic addition. Hopefully, the other players around him come to the party. The wicket got better late on. The dew came on. It was tough. The cutters weren't holding in the wicket either. Our catching... Avishka played really, but if we'd taken the first chance... We are coming to a stage where momentum is key.

10:06pm: Wow, what a chase that was. It is the first time any team has chased 200+ in the ILT20. This was a different Sharjah pitch from what we've seen in the last few years. There wasn't much spin. The bounce was rather consistent. Batters could hit through the line as they pleased. And that is exactly what Avishka Fernando did. He made 81 off 27 balls. That was the headline act, as the Warriorz chased down 202 with 11 balls to spare. Johnson Charles got them off to a quick start in the powerplay, and then Luke Wells played a nice cameo at the end to finish it off. The Warriorz remain unbeaten in the ILT20 against Dubai Capitals, who have work to do, especially on the fielding front, they dropped four catches tonight. The Warriorz weren't much better on the field, but they had that X-Factor performance from Avishka, which has taken them to an easy win.

Gulbadin to Wells, FOUR runs

And there it is! The Sharjah Warriorz have made a mockery of a target of 202. Another boundary for Wells. Naib bangs this in on a hard length outside off, Wells flat bats it over extra cover, and it reaches the boundary on the bounce.

Naib will bowl again, as the highest successful run chase in the ILT20 looms on us.

Stone to Wells, FOUR runs

Oh no, another dropped catch in this game, this time from McCoy. Short ball again, Wells again helps a pull in the air through fine leg, McCoy overruns it, looks to catch it with his fingers pointing upwards, but somehow lets it slip through,

Stone to Wells, FOUR runs

Well gets another boundary, this is turning into a lovely little hand from Wells. Short ball on middle and leg, Wells jerks a little bit on contact, but makes superb contact on that pull shot and gets it squarer of fine leg.

Stone to Wells, FOUR runs

Wells launches Stone straight back over his head! Length ball from Stone, right in the slot to play an attacking stroke, and Wells does it nicely.

The Capitals' two big gun fast bowlers are done. Stone will be done after this over. The Warriorz will have two overs of the 'lesser' bowlers coming up after this. They need to be sensible about their approach.

Chameera to Karim Janat, OUT

Janat's attempts at dismissing himself have finally paid off. Slower ball, full on off stump, Janat swipes at it across the line. He gets a thick leading edge on it, and McCoy settles under it and easily pouches it at third.

McCoy to Avishka Fernando, OUT

Avishka's fun is over, but was that unforgettable or what? It's short and angling across, he looked for the upper cut and got a thin outside edge. Dunk takes it nicely over his head. Stunning, stunning knock from Avishka, he's made a 200+ run chase look a cakewalk, and gets a standing ovation from his team as he walks back into the dressing room.

McCoy to Avishka Fernando, SIX runs

Another one has been sent outside the stadium! Unbelievable striking, this! Slot ball, yes, but they still have to be put away, and Avishka has continued to do that. This one, he just got his front foot out of the way and creamed over midwicket.

McCoy to Avishka Fernando, 2 runs

back of a length outside off, Avishka bunts it over the infield on the offside, and finds a vacant enough space for him to get back for a couple.

The Capitals scored 64 off their last 5 overs when they batted. The Warriorz now need 28 off the last 5 overs. What a serious, serious chase this has been. Avishka Fernando has been magnificent.
