what a finish from Unadkat. A hat-trick maiden in the last over. Offcutter outside off, flat-batted to extra cover. There is a mix-up between the wickets, it's eventually a dot. Take a bow, Unadkat. He becomes only the third player after Malinga and Badree to take triple-wicket maidens in the IPL
Supergiant vs SRH, 44th match at Hyderabad, May 06 2017 - Ball by Ball Commentary
9.40pm That's some finish from Unadkat. A hat-trick, a five-for, and 100 wickets in the IPL, all in one over. The fortress that is the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium has been breached. Pune keep rising; they go second now. The win was set up by Stokes who hammered 39 off 25 balls on a pitch where his team-mates struggled to get going. Stokes then claimed the key wickets of Warner, Dhawan, and Williamson in the chase. He wasn't done yet. He tracked down some skiers at sweeper cover to hasten Unadkat's landmark and Sunrisers' downfall. Do hang around for the presentation.
"Very good win. The boys scrapped well. We thought 150-160 would be par," Smith says. "The stronger boys could time the ball. We did well to scrap to 147 in the end. The bowlers bowled good lengths. He is doing nicely, bowling upfront he is also good. A wicket-maiden, that was good. We have played really well in the last seven or eight games."
"Well, brilliant to get through in a low-scoring game," Unadkat says. "All of us have contributed. That's how we have won matches. We are trying to keep it simple. I have the backing of Smithy, MS and Stoksy. I have been just sticking it to my strengths. I am really happy with the wickets. We are playing in Delhi next, I would like to adapt to it."
vkcharan: "Hat-trick, 5 for, 100 wkts. 3 birds in one shot"
That is all we have for you from this game. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did bringing it to you. Goodbye and good night
This is the 17th hat-trick in IPL, first for RPS. Unadkat is the second bowler to take 2 five-fors in IPL. First was Faulkner.
wide of the crease, another slower ball, which bounces over the stumps, as the batsman plays down the wrong line
four straight dots and a hat-trick in the last over. What a way to reach 100 IPL wickets. Yet another slower ball outside off, this is slightly short. Bhuvneshwar is through with his pull and splices a catch to the right of cover
Two in two for Unadkat. Another slower ball outside off. Rashid does not pick it. Clears his front leg and toe-ends it in the air. Unadkat himself settles under the skier
Unadkat and Stokes combine for another wicket. Slower ball, good length on off, Bipul Sharma picks it and swings to leg again. He only skews it off the bottom of the bat. Gets more height as opposed to distance. Holes out to Stokes(who else?) at deep midwicket
full offcutter outside off, 119ks, the line is wide, Bipul slogs early to the leg side.... and misses
Sunrisers need 13 off the last over. Unadkat to bowl it. Over the wicket
slower short ball on middle, 114ks, skies a pull over midwicket. Nine off the over. Stokes finishes with 4-0-30-3
pitched up and outside off, drilled through the line to Smith at long-off
pretty full and wide, floats a slower ball past the tramline. Off-side wide
slower full ball outside off, 111ks, flat-batted over the bowler's head. Long-off (Smith) runs across to his left to stop the ball
full and really wide outside off, toe-ended in the air, drops in front of deep cover and deep backward point running in
around the wicket
pretty full on off stump, swung away to long-on on the bounce
wide yorker outside off, Rashid can't run it down to third man. Beaten
Stokes. Over the wicket. Arun from the ground: Fielding changes galore Christian swaps places with Shardul, who now goes to mid off. Christian at long on .three on the leg side, and a third man and a sweeper cover on the off
Unadkat strikes with another slower ball, tilting it towards Pune's way. Slower, fuller offcutter wide outside off. Ojha has to reach out, much like Yuvraj did; he looks to loft and ends up slicing it in the air. It's that man Stokes again. He runs in from sweeper cover and tracks it down
slower short ball outside off, dragged down to long-on
full and outside off, presses forward and whips it away between deep midwicket and long-on for two
slower ball outside off, pushed into the covers
clears Christian at long-on. Full slower ball outside off, Ojha does not time his loft. Ends up skying it over the long-on boundary and tilts it Sunrisers' way
short and wide - wider than a set of stumps outside off - Unadkat forces Yuvraj to reach out for the ball. He looks to cut it away but is undone by the width. He only slices it in the air. Tripathi judges this skier well. Runs to his right and snaffles it. Yuvraj has some advice for the incoming Bipul
Unadkat comes on. Over the wicket
full and really wide outside off, another slower one at 116ks, asks Yuvraj to reach out and drive to long-off
