TOTAL111.1 Ov (RR: 3.10)345
Fall of wickets: 1-21 (Mayank Agarwal, 7.5 ov), 2-82 (Shubman Gill, 29.6 ov), 3-106 (Cheteshwar Pujara, 37.4 ov), 4-145 (Ajinkya Rahane, 49.2 ov), 5-266 (Ravindra Jadeja, 86.6 ov), 6-288 (Wriddhiman Saha, 92.2 ov), 7-305 (Shreyas Iyer, 96.1 ov), 8-313 (Axar Patel, 98.6 ov), 9-339 (Ravichandran Ashwin, 109.2 ov), 10-345 (Ishant Sharma, 111.1 ov)
37.4 to CA Pujara, got him, huge wicket for Southee! Terrific delivery, fullish and straightening in the corridor. Pujara presses forward to defend, and he gets a thin outside edge that just about carries to Blundell. Williamson had just brought Southee on, and the change works immediately. Pujara usually lets the ball hit his bat when he defends, but on this occasion the bat slightly went towards the ball, with harder hands than usual. 106/3
86.6 to RA Jadeja, bowled him, Southee gets his reward for a superb spell. Stuck in the crease once again to a length ball angling into off stump, and it's not done a whole lot, maybe moved in a touch. Leaves a gap between bat and body while trying to defend it back down the pitch, and ends up inside-edging into his stumps. He's utterly livid with himself, swings his bat over the top of the stumps before walking off. The TV commentators note that square leg had just been pushed back onto the boundary, and that may have put the short ball in the back of Jadeja's mind. 266/5
92.2 to WP Saha, got him, Southee gets his second of the morning. He's been bowling like an absolute artist all morning. Full outside off, but not quite full enough to drive. It shapes away very late from there, and Saha, looking to drive through mid-off, plays a long way in front of his body and edges, and Blundell dives to his right to take the low catch. 288/6
96.1 to SS Iyer, uppish, and straight to cover! That's a poor shot, and Iyer has to drag himself off the crease. It's a loopy ball from Southee, with some width on offer, and he just lazily drives it into the hands of Will Young. Soaks in the applause as he walks off, but that's a good time for a breakthrough. Southee has four!. 305/7
98.6 to AR Patel, five for Southee! Just pitching outside off, and drawing Axar into a tentative poke. Gets the outside edge through to Blundell. Southee pumps his fist, because this morning has just been an exhibition of clever fast bowling from the New Zealander. Completely taken the mantle of the senior fast bowler, keeping New Zealand well and truly in this contest in the process. 313/8
7.5 to MA Agarwal, got him, Jamieson's got his first wicket in Asia. Superb bowling, he's deserved it. Length ball in the corridor, straightens just a touch, and Agarwal, pressing half-forward, plays away from his body, somewhere between a defensive shot and an attempted push into the covers. Thin edge through to Blundell, and Agarwal walks off after a brief chat with his partner - maybe he wasn't sure he felt the edge? Seemed quite a clear edge, though. 21/1
29.6 to Shubman Gill, bowled him, this is a terrific delivery from Jamieson! Another in-ducker, his third of the over, but this one is the fullest, on the fuller side of a good length outside off, and just nipping in off the deck. Gill isn't fully forward to defend this, he's just landed on his heel when he plays it, and that ends up causing a gap to form between bat and pad. Off the inside edge to disturb the furniture. 82/2
49.2 to AM Rahane, doesn't get away with it the next ball. Chopped on! He will be bitterly disappointed with that shot. Away from his body, and the ball also keeps a bit low. It was a harmless length ball outside off. Jamieson has bowled much better balls today without any kind of reward. Rahane is disconsolate as he walks off. This has been a good innings, but like so many in recent times, he is gone before making it count. 145/4
109.2 to R Ashwin, bowled him, finally a wicket for spin! Nicely bowled, and Ashwin falls in the quest for quick runs. Drifts inwards to pitch well outside leg stump, and Ashwin, stepping away from the line to make room to drive inside-out through the covers, is beaten on the outside edge as the ball grips and turns sharply out of the footmarks. 339/9
111.1 to I Sharma, beauty. Ajaz gets his second - unless Ishant's review is successful... Lovely length, drifting in to pitch just outside off, and Ishant, stretching forward to defend, plays for turn that isn't there. Just keeps skidding with the angle to thud into his front pad, and that's crashing into the stumps, no worries at all. 345/10

TOTAL142.3 Ov (RR: 2.07)296
Fall of wickets: 1-151 (Will Young, 66.1 ov), 2-197 (Kane Williamson, 85.3 ov), 3-214 (Ross Taylor, 94.3 ov), 4-218 (Henry Nicholls, 96.5 ov), 5-227 (Tom Latham, 102.1 ov), 6-241 (Rachin Ravindra, 110.4 ov), 7-258 (Tom Blundell, 123.4 ov), 8-270 (Tim Southee, 127.4 ov), 9-284 (Kyle Jamieson, 138.6 ov), 10-296 (William Somerville, 142.3 ov)
85.3 to KS Williamson, looks to defend, but is beaten. Given out leg before, and he has reviewed this. Looks a touch high at first glance, but remember the on-field decision is out. No inside edge, and the replays reflect three reds! What a time for India to break through, and with Williamson gone, it opens up a window of opportunity for India, no doubt about that. And a great delivery to achieve that. Seamed in sharply at good pace and completely took Williamson by surprise as he shaped to defend with bat close to body. 197/2
66.1 to WA Young, was there an edge? Given not out but Bharat is confident. Ashwin nods too and India have gone for the review. A fuller length ball outside off, Young tried to dab it behind point but the ball kept low and took an outside edge. The credit should go to Bharat too as he stayed low and pouched it easily. 151/1
138.6 to KA Jamieson, Jamieson's patience finally runs out! Delightful bit of deception from Ashwin. Hangs it up above his eyeline, outside off. Jamieson goes for the hoick across the line. He probably wants to go down the ground, but finds the ball isn't quite there. Ends up skewing it towards deep mid-wicket. Axar Patel is the fielder in place to pouch an easy catch. 284/9
142.3 to WER Somerville, that's the end of the innings! Another one for Ashwin, and due reward too. Goes for the sweep, across the line. Pitching around off and going on with the arm. Goes under his bat, and strikes the off stump midway through. 296/10
110.4 to R Ravindra, Ravindra gets Ravindra! Into the footmarks, and Ravindra looks to come forward to defend. Spins enough, and also keeps a touch low, to sneak in through the gap between bat and pad. The choice of keeping the cover region unprotected works. It wasn't an attacking option as such, but defending must have looked like an easy prospect. India continue to chip away. 241/6
94.3 to LRPL Taylor, edged and Bharat pouches it this time. A length ball around off, Taylor comes on the front foot to defend it, ends up playing a touch inside the line. A little bit of turn as well to fetch the outside edge. Bharat does the rest. 214/3
96.5 to HM Nicholls, given lbw but Nicholls reviews straightaway. Fuller length around off, Nicholls went for the slog sweep but missed and got hit on the pads. The question is if the impact was outside off. There was no bat involved. It pitched just outside off, umpire's call on where the impact was, but no doubt where it was heading. Would have crashed into the stumps. New Zealand retain the review but lose another wicket. 218/4
102.1 to TWM Latham, and he's gone! Latham skips out to try and defend one outside off, spinning back into him at good speed. Comes off his inside edge on to the ground, and Bharat collects, keeps his wits about him and then whips the bails off with Latham atleast a foot and a half beyond the crease. Walks back dejected, not even waiting for the third umpire's verdict. 227/5
123.4 to TA Blundell, kept low! A length ball on the off stump. Blundell was on the back foot and tried to defend it but it hardly bounced after pitching and went underneath the bat to make a mess of the furniture. 258/7
127.4 to TG Southee, five-for for Axar! Bowled from wide of the crease, angling in and then straightening. Southee was on the back foot, played for the angle but failed to connect the push and the ball clattered into the stumps. 270/8

TOTAL81 Ov (RR: 2.88)234/7d
Fall of wickets: 1-2 (Shubman Gill, 1.1 ov), 2-32 (Cheteshwar Pujara, 11.1 ov), 3-41 (Ajinkya Rahane, 14.5 ov), 4-51 (Mayank Agarwal, 19.2 ov), 5-51 (Ravindra Jadeja, 19.4 ov), 6-103 (Ravichandran Ashwin, 39.2 ov), 7-167 (Shreyas Iyer, 60.2 ov)
19.2 to MA Agarwal, snapped up at second slip! India in a spot of bother here. Southee gets one to nip away from a good length just outside off. Mayank looks to press forward and defend, and it runs off the outside edge. Perhaps could have gone at it with softer hands. Good diving catch away to his left by Latham, who still has his helmet on. Mayank walks off with a bowed head. This Test just keeps moving on rapidly. 51/4
19.4 to RA Jadeja, this could be gone too! Full, and he looks to whip it across the line. Struck on the pads. Given out, but he has reviewed. I think he will be very lucky to survive this. Unless there's been an inside edge. Doesn't seem to be. Iyer also had a disapproving shake of the head. And with good cause. This returns three reds. India lose a wicket, and a review. Half the side gone for just 51!. 51/5
60.2 to SS Iyer, short, looks for the pull, and that has gone off the bottom of the bat! How unlucky is that! Taken by Blundell. The TV umpire was conferred for the clean catch, and that was all fine. Seems to have come off the glove, in fact. Just beaten by the slowness of the ball. Also didn't rise as high as he anticipated. Iyer is already halfway to the boundary, while the TV umpire confirms his exit. What a Test Iyer has had, though!. 167/7
1.1 to Shubman Gill, gone through him! Goes through Gill, and a 50th Test wicket for Jamieson. Good length ball, and Gill shapes to defend, but plays outside the line of it. Just a bit of nip back, and brushes the top of his pad and then tickles the bails between off and middle. Would have been leg before if not bowled. What a start for the Kiwis!. 2/1
11.1 to CA Pujara, An appeal for caught-behind. Given not out but New Zealand want to review. Banged in short, angling down the leg side. Pujara was looking to fend at it. He tried to get his gloves away at the last moment but was it too late? Too late, there is a spike on UltraEdge when the ball is close to the gloves. 32/2
39.2 to R Ashwin, chopped on! Short of length outside off, Ashwin looks to punch it off the back foot. Gets an inside edge onto his leg and it dribbles on to the stumps. 103/6
14.5 to AM Rahane, Rahane departs. A length ball around off that comes into the batter with the arm to beat Rahane's forward push and hit him right in front of the stumps. Rahane is a chat with Mayank and decides there's no point reviewing it. 41/3

TOTAL98 Ov (RR: 1.68)165/9
Fall of wickets: 1-3 (Will Young, 2.6 ov), 2-79 (William Somerville, 35.1 ov), 3-118 (Tom Latham, 54.2 ov), 4-125 (Ross Taylor, 63.1 ov), 5-126 (Henry Nicholls, 64.1 ov), 6-128 (Kane Williamson, 69.1 ov), 7-138 (Tom Blundell, 78.2 ov), 8-147 (Kyle Jamieson, 85.6 ov), 9-155 (Tim Southee, 89.2 ov)
2.6 to WA Young, this has kept low, and struck him on the pads. Looks to be heading down the leg side, and he has reviewed right as the clock runs out! He has to go, though. The replay will be interesting. It's a fullish length ball, and has gone past his inside edge as he shapes to defend. Goes along the ground. It is missing, for sure, but they took too much time to ponder over what to do! Desperately unlucky Will Young. 3/1
54.2 to TWM Latham, slowness of the wicket gets him. Short of length, wide outside off, Latham looks to force it through covers but gets an inside edge onto the stumps. With that wicket, Ashwin has gone past Harbhajan Singh's Test tally of 417. Here's the list of the highest wicket-takers in Test cricket. 118/3
78.2 to TA Blundell, got him, that's a hugely unusual dismissal! Stretches out to defend one turning in from outside off, and he ends up going too far across with his front leg, maybe, ends up exposing his stumps behind him. Hits the inside half of the bat, rolls past his left leg, and then hits leg stump. It may have hit the bat, then hit a footmark, and then bounced backwards. 138/7
64.1 to HM Nicholls, huge appeal for lbw and given out. Nicholls wants to review this. A length ball around off, the batter played inside the line and missed it. Was hit on the back leg and replays show it would have gone on to hit the middle stump. In fact, Nicholls had started walking after the very first replay. New Zealand lose their review. 126/5
35.1 to WER Somerville, and he strikes first ball! It's short, as you might expect, and it gets up to around the front shoulder. Somerville takes on the hook at the first opportunity, and hits it in the air, in the direction of long leg. Gill has quite a distance to run in from the boundary, and he takes a superb catch diving forward. 79/2
63.1 to LRPL Taylor, and Jadeja makes it the last ball before the interval. A length ball pitching outside off, Taylor comes forward to defend but the ball keeps coming in with the angle and beats the inside edge to rap the batter on the pad. An appeal for lbw and Taylor knew he was out. Didn't bother checking with Williamson if he should review it. The replay confirm as much, the ball would have crashed into the leg stump. 125/4
69.1 to KS Williamson, trapped in front. Jadeja doesn't even appeal, he simply wheels away for celebration. A length ball, Williamson went back to work it towards the leg side but it came in with the arm and kept low as well to hit him right in front of the stumps. India four wickets away now. 128/6
85.6 to KA Jamieson, a huge appeal and the finger goes up. A length ball around middle and spinning past the outside edge to hit the back leg. Jamieson knew straightaway. India now two wickets away from a win. 147/8
89.2 to TG Southee, an appeal for lbw and given. Southee has reviewed straightaway. But that looked close, unless he got some bat on it. No, he didn't! A length ball around off and spinning away just enough to beat the outside edge and hit the back leg. Would have gone on to hit the off stump. 155/9
