64.6 to Azhar Ali, tried to pull it away but this time only finds the top edge. Skied straight up, allowing the keeper all the time in the world to get underneath it, take the catch and send the former Pakistan captain on his way!. 193/3

67.5 to Babar Azam, kept low and came back in, and for once the variable bounce hurts Pakistan. It rapped him on the pad, Bangladesh appealed and the umpire raises his finger. Babar reviews but he hasn't got anything on it. It's hitting the stumps, and Babar Azam's gone! He won't get that 100 that's kept him waiting for quite a while now.. 197/4

18.3 to Abdullah Shafique, through the gate! No century partnership, and a superb bit of bowling from Taijul. Good length, and he was shaping to defend with a forward press. Was playing for the turn, but it just went on with the angle. The key was how much he slowed it down, and bowled from a touch wide of the crease. With the angle, it goes through bat and pad and just clips off. Bangladesh celebrate. 59/1 24.6 to Abid Ali, chopped on! Abid has played the cut really well in this innings, but this time he fails to read one that goes on with the arm, and also skids through a touch. Good length around off, and he thinks he can go back and create enough room for that shot, but ends up playing it off the inside of the bat. On to stumps, and Bangladesh start the celebrations. 70/2

28.3 to Khaled Ahmed, around the wicket, and yorks him straight away! Fast, full, and straight, and given his limited ability with the bat, there was only going to be one winner in that contest. Khaled looks to jam his bat down on time, but cannot do that. 77/9

2.5 to Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Joy gets a blob on debut! Length ball, with teasing flight and drift outside off, and he skips forward hoping to get to the pitch of it. Ends up playing more of a tentative poke, and it takes the outside edge and flies away to slip, where it is snapped up. 1/1 8.6 to Shadman Islam, gone! Extra bounce, and he just limply pops it up to point. Indecisive footwork at the root of that dismissal for Shadman Islam. He was looking to make room and cut it away, but got surprised by the extra bounce on a length ball tossed wide outside off. Ends up playing a shot that he was committed to, but never fully convinced about. Sajid gets his second wicket. 20/2 12.3 to Mushfiqur Rahim, what on earth has he done there? Unwieldy hoick for Mushfiqur, sending it straight down short midwicket's throat! . Bangladesh are crumbling under the pressure here!. 31/4 16.3 to Litton Das, this one's gone. Another rash shot, another Bangladesh wicket. Liton charged the spinner, doesn't get to the pitch and clubs it straight back to Sajid. It's a sharp return catch and Pakistan celebrate once more. They clearly smell blood here. 46/5 18.5 to Najmul Hossain Shanto, rapped on the pads and the umpire gives it! I think it looked high, but it did strike his back pad. Bangladesh review, it's a legal delivery. He's not got an inside edge, and that's hitting! Sajid gets five and Bangladesh are tottering. 65/6 20.4 to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, tried to smear it through the onside from well outside off. It spins back in and takes the off-stump! Mehidy's gone for a duck, and Bangladesh's high-risk approach may not see them avoid the follow-on after all. 71/7 27.6 to Taijul Islam, this is fuller, straighter, and given out! Given out, but Taijul has gone for the review. Seems to have missed the bat, as Taijul went forward to defend. It's a good length ball, that straightens just a little bit. The question is has it straightened enough? Three reds, and that is a seventh wicket for Sajid!. 76/8 31.6 to Shakib Al Hasan, oh, he has come charging out, and chipped this straight to short cover! Eight in the innings for Sajid Khan, who has been exceptional. Saw that Shakib was eager to use his feet, and just bowled it a touch flatter and wider, and Shakib couldn't quite keep his shape. Driven to the man close by. 87/10

4.1 to Shadman Islam, big appeal for lbw, and it's given! Superb bowling from Shaheen, and Shadman's lack of footwork finally does him in. It just looked plumb. Good length in the corridor, and from there Shaheen has been swinging it away from the left-hander consistently. This one nips back in sharply off the seam, and Shadman is caught off-guard, late on his defensive jab while hurriedly jumping across his stumps. Struck right in front on the back pad. Umpire's call on height according to ball-tracking, so he would have had to go anyway, even if he'd reviewed. 12/2 8.1 to Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shaheen strikes again! Terrific delivery, back of a length, straightening very close to off stump, with extra bounce too. Gets squared up in defence, and the ball pops to the finer of two gullies off the shoulder of the bat. Excellent planning and execution there. 25/4

3.2 to Mahmudul Hasan Joy, bowled him, that's a classic Hasan dismissal. Superb length close to off stump, and it nips in just enough after drawing the batter onto the front foot. Plays with hard hands, looking to push down the ground rather than let the ball come to him and defend, and that creates the fatal gap for the ball to sneak through. 12/1 5.3 to Mominul Haque, big shout for lbw, and it's given! Played around his front pad there, but did it strike him in line? Mominul has reviewed... On the fuller side of a good length, and sharp inward movement off the seam. Gets forward and across to try and clip it into the leg side, and ends up with his front pad in the way of his bat's path. Did it strike him in line,m though? Has he got a tiny inside edge on it? It looks very close, because the bat and the pad are either side of the ball at roughly the same time when a spike appears on Ultra Edge. It's almost impossible to say whether it hit bat first or pad, or if it hit bat at all. Is there enough evidence to overrule the on-field decision? And has the bat hit the ball at all, or has it brushed the pad, because the pad was thrust a little too far across. My gut feel is that the bat hit the pad, and the ball missed the bat and hit the pad. A thousand replays, frame after frame. Well, the third umpire stays with the umpire, and so does ball-tracking, which suggests the ball struck him in line with off stump, not even umpire's call. Three reds, and Mominul will have to walk back. Pakistan are all over Bangladesh here, and their first-innings destroyer hasn't even bowled a ball yet. 19/3

33.1 to Litton Das, got him, he's broken the partnership with a rank long-hop! Short, turning in towards leg stump, and there's a case to be made that the turn cramped him for room on the pull. Ended up hitting it straight to the man at square leg, who takes it after a bit of a juggle. A soft end to what had shaped towards being a classy innings from Liton. He had looked really comfortable in the middle. 98/5 76.5 to Shakib Al Hasan, through him! Bangladesh have often played back today, and this has proved costly this time. Shakib is stunned. Ten for Sajid, who goes to perform the sajda. Wowzer! That was a touch quicker, flatter again, and Shakib went back to defend, but just played inside the line of it. He is literally dragging himself off the pitch. Is that game over for Bangladesh? It is getting a touch darker, but with the spinners in operation, the umpires are unlikely to do anything drastic about the light. 200/8 78.6 to Khaled Ahmed, is that an outside edge? Yes it is. Just outside off, but why would Khaled not consume a review? Superb bowling, just outside off, and holding its line a bit. Khaled pushes to defend, but gets a feather edge. However, in this situation, the batters need to have the game awareness to review whatever they get. Take some valuable time out of the equation. 204/9 84.4 to Taijul Islam, that could be it! Given out leg before. Taijul reviews, but that looks out to the naked eye. Is it a Pakistan win, with Sajid picking another? He was looking to go back and defend, one that fired in quick. He's caught in front, and that is the win for Pakistan!. 205/10
2 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0.50 | 11 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
75.2 to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, length, goes for the sweep. Loud appeal for leg before, but not given, and they have reviewed! At first glance, the impact looked outside off. It is probably going on to hit leg and middle. There's no edge on this, for sure. It's three reds! There's the breakthrough. Babar Azam with his first international wicket, and wow! What a time to get it. 198/7 |
