Babar went about the ship-steadying work with Ian Cockbain who looked terrific for his 31 off 19 on a slow pitch. But once he was dismissed, the Kings couldn't find someone to provide that impetus through the middle phases. With the Zalmi bowlers digging it into the pitch and offering no pace to work with, Babar and co found it difficult to up the ante and score as per the required rate. Mohammad Umar, in particular, was superb for his 3/22 that broke the back of Karachi's batting line-up. In the end, it was too much work to be done at the rear-end and Zalmi managed to secure what turned out to be a comprehensive victory.
