Middlesex bowled well to reduce Gloucestershire to 157 for 7 in 82
overs with Phil Tufnell taking 3 for 16 and Angus Fraser 2 for 43.
Only opener Dominic Hewson (43) and wicket keeper Reggie Williams (30
not out) put on a decent score. Earlier Middlesex made a disappointing
207 after being 151 for 5 overnight. Middlesex got a bonus batting
point thanks to Richard Johnson's quickfire 31. Martyn Ball took 3 for
31 for Gloucestershire.
Gloucestershire's reply started off very badly when they lost Tim
Hancock their opener for a duck to Fraser, then lost Hewson, Windows
and Mark Alleyne to Tufnell and were at one stage 83 for 5. But the
Gloucestershire lower order hung on grimly to keep the match even.
