3.40pm
As expected, the match has been called off. Many thanks to Chris Busby's tireless work in scoring - and do join him, and me, for Ireland's match against West Indies on Saturday at Clontarf in Dublin. It'll be a cracker.
2.45pm
There'll be an inspection at 3.30pm apparently. That's if it stops raining which, at the moment, looks very unlikely.
2.20pm
There's about as much chance of play as me sprouting wings and flying to the moon, I'm afraid. It's Will Luke here, in case you weren't aware, just providing an update while Chris Busby has a deserved lunch. Puddles have been spotted on the outfield, and it continues to teem down out there. It's quite horrific. If we hear anything from the umpires, you'll be the first to know, but in the meantime I'd go and boil the kettle.
Match State: Delay - Rain stops play And here comes the rain, on come the covers. It is perishingly cold - we're struggling to feel our fingers as the press tent is outside, and not particularly watertight. And as I write, the rain comes down harder - in the words of Paul McCartney, I think, it's driving rain. And that'll be it for the day I reckon. We'll keep you updated though
The rain hasn't really got any heavier but the Umpires have a chat and decide to come off in persistant mizzle. It looks although its pretty set in but I'll keep you updated
12.40pm Bad news here I'm afraid, the rain has got heavier and more covers have just come on. There's no chance of play in the immediate future, I'll let you know if anything changes
1.30pm No change here, the rain is still falling, although it may have eased a little. Lunch has been taken, there's still no chance of play anytime soon. As always, we'll let you know if anything changes...
