VVS Laxman and Vanka Pratap slammed centuries as Hyderabad took a 59
run first innings lead over Bihar, with two wickets remaining, on the
third day of their Super League tie at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in
Hyderabad today. The home team scored a round 300 runs during the day
to finish at 440/8.
In the morning Nandakishore added only eight runs to his overnight
score before he was dismissed for 82, with the first wicket stand
worth 164, but his partner Laxman went on to crack three figures (119
off 173 balls, 17 fours, 1 six). Pratap and all rounder Parth
Satwalekar then put on 119 for the 5th wicket. When the latter fell
for a 114 ball 73, the flood gates opened with four wickets falling
for 33 runs in the space of 21 balls as Hyderabad attempted to force
the pace towards the close of play. Pratap survived to remain unbeaten
on exactly 100 (218 balls, 7 fours, 2 sixes).
