Assam 393 (Jadhav 74, Roy 72, Tarjinder 66, Gokul 54) beat Hyderabad 215 (Agarwal 68, Quadri 50, Purkayastha 5-59) and (f/o) 122 (Purkayastha 8-29) by an innings and 56 runs
Scorecard
Swarupam Purkayastha took career-best figures of 8 for 29 in the second innings and 13 for 88 in the match to bowl Assam to an innings win over hosts Hyderabad. The 25-year old offspinner ran through Hyderabad in the follow-on innings with returns of 29-16-29-8. Hyderabad began the day on 21 for 1, trailing Assam by 157 runs, and Purkayastha needed four deliveries to strike. No. 3 Hanuma Vihari's 24 was to be their highest score as they crumbled for 122 in 66.3 overs. Abu Nechim and Syed Mohammad shared the two wickets that did not fall to Purkayastha.
Goa 304 (Kamat 84, Bandekar 84, Misal 76, Suraj 4-92) and 26 for 0 drew with Services 381 (Sethi 132*, Gupta 125, Gawas 5-111)
Scorecard
Hardik Sethi's debut century and his vital ninth-wicket partnership with Abhishek Sakuja gave Services the decisive lead over Goa in Delhi. Services were reeling at 267 for 8 in reply to Goa's 304 but Sethi and Sakuja (17) put on 41 to earn their side three points. Services had been sitting strong on 251 for 4 with Anshul Gupta (125) and Sethi having added 174 but the former's dismissal led to a stumble. Sethi revived the innings and after Sakuja's exit, put on 73 for the last wicket with Roshan Raj (35) to stay unbeaten on 132 off 258 deliveries. The Goa openers played out 14 overs without damage in their second innings.
Himachal Pradesh 304 (Bains 129, Kalsi 80, Ashish 4-55, Nadeem 4-77) and 91 for 6 (Ajay 3-18) drew with Jharkhand 232 (Nemat 77, Jaggi 56*, Dhawan 5-90)
Scorecard
Rishi Dhawan took his 15th five-for in 39 first-class games to earn Himachal Pradesh three points over Jharkhand in Dharamsala. Jharkhand were 127 for 1 at one stage in pursuit of Himachal's 304 but Karanveer Singh's dismissal of Rameez Nemat for 77 triggered the collapse. In the next over, Vikramjeet Malik removed Saurabh Tiwary for 49. Dhawan took out five of the remaining seven wickets to dismiss Jharkhand for 232 even though Ishank Jaggi fought with an unbeaten 56. Jharkhand hit back to reduce Himachal to 91 for 6 in the second innings but had no more time left. The entire second day's play had been washed out.
