Behrendorff's seven sets up Western Australia win

Jason Behrendorff's career-best seven-wicket haul set up a comfortable victory for Western Australia over Queensland on the third day of their day-night Sheffield Shield clash at the WACA. Behrendorff finished with match figures of 10 for 115 as the Warriors wrapped up an eight-wicket win that put them, temporarily at least, on top of the table with two wins from two games.

Western Australia started the day on 7 for 342 in their first innings but were able to add only 15 for their last three wickets as James Hopes ended up with 5 for 60. Their big first-innings advantage put the pressure on Queensland, who stumbled to 2 for 19 when Behrendorff picked up both openers with the new ball, before a 130-run partnership from Greg Moller and Peter Forrest steadied the Bulls.

However, after Moller fell for 86 and Forrest for 43 in the next over, the wickets fell rapidly. Behrendorff grabbed 7 for 71 to add to his 3 for 44 from the first innings and Queensland were all out for 210, setting the Warriors just 17 for victory. Hopes picked up two wickets but the Warriors got to their target within 10 overs.
