Fantasy Picks: Stuart Broad and Mohammad Abbas are the bowlers in form

Fantasy suggestions for the third Test between England and Pakistan

England v Pakistan, 3rd Test, Southampton

Pro tip
  • With just around 144 overs of play in the second Test, the bowlers did not have much of a workload. Both teams are likely to be unchanged for the third Test as well, and bowlers will continue to play a big role. Similar to the last Test, it is better to pack your team with more bowlers.
  • Our XI: Dom Sibley, Zak Crawley, Joe Root, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Chris Woakes, Mohammad Abbas, Yasir Shah, Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Shaheen Shah Afridi
NOTE: We might not always be able to tip you off about late injury (or other relevant) updates. Watch out for team news at the toss before selecting the final XI.
    Captain: Stuart Broad
Broad took six wickets in the first Test and four in the second. The Pakistan batsmen have been very cautious in playing Broad, who has been the bowler in form. Get Broad to captain, and he could help you finish the summer on a high.
    Vice-captain: Mohammad Abbas
Abbas has been troubling the English top-order batsmen the most. He keeps thing very tight and controls the flow of runs as well as picks up wickets. In case Pakistan bowl first, Abbas could be your main man early on. Either way the toss goes, Abbas is a safe choice.
    Hot picks
James Anderson: Anderson was under some pressure at the end of the first Test but came back to form in the second, picking up three wickets for 60 runs. If the England fielders can be on top of their game, Anderson could be high up on the wicket-taking chart.
Babar Azam: Babar has been the best batsman for Pakistan so far on the tour. A 47 in the second Test along with a 69 in the first makes him a safe pick.
    Value picks
Dom Sibley: When England have done well in the recent past, Sibley has played a key role in not losing his wicket to the new ball and ensuring he scores big. Sibley needs to do that again. If he can get through the early stages he would be your value pick when compared to Rory Burns, who has struggled of late.
Mohammad Rizwan: Rizwan has been in good touch with the bat, with 108 runs in the series so far, and there is the chance of getting points as wicketkeeper too. Rizwan top scored for Pakistan in the last Test and is the man in form. It is tough batting at the top of the order in England, so two middle-order batsmen could be useful.
