The annual Under-15 Inter-Provincial Cricket Tournament will be played from the 10th to the 19th of February 2002 in Kandy and Colombo. The tournament is organized by the National Development Centre of the BCCSL, in conjunction with the provincial cricket associations.
Eight teams will be participating in this tournament in two groups, each comprising four teams. Each team will play a total of three matches on a round-robin basis, with matches to be played on a 50 overs per side basis. The winner of each group will qualify for the final.
Players were chosen for each team by the respective provincial cricket association, following the recently concluded Inter-District Tournament. Performances during the Inter-Provincial Tournament will be considered in selecting the National Under-15 Pool.
