Anuradhapura to get cricket stadium

Officials of the NDC recently visited Anuradhapura to identify the possibility of a Cricket Stadium for the benefit of Cricket in the region. According to an official who met surveyed the premises with the secretary of Anuradhapura District Cricket Association (ADCA), Vanoj Wijesinghe who was the one time President of ADCA, identified this as the most likely venue to be the Samadi Cricket grounds located 3 Kilometers from the Municipality perimeters and is the most suitable to date.

The property, according Nihal Lewke, an official of ADCA, and Wijesinghe, the venue now under the purview of ADCA. The picturesque municipality grounds, another option, had been defaced by huge constructions being built and any possibility of upgrading the grounds is beyond reality.

NDC however will go ahead with feasible plans and hopefully commence work with the approval of the Interim Committee.
