Sri Lanka`s No. 3 batsman Asanka Gurusinha has been shaping well
scoring three half centuries for his club North Melbourne in Australia. The 30-year-old left-hand batsman who has represented Sri
Lanka in 41 Tests and 144 one-day internationals, is presently in
Australia to play for North Melbourne in District Cricket.
Since Gurusinha is a member of the national pool making preparations for their forthcoming tour of New Zealand later next month,
the Sri Lanka Cricket Board is monitoring his performances
through their representative in Australia, Dr. Quintus de
Zilwa. But Gurusinha`s future in the Sri Lanka cricket team
depends on what course of action the disciplinary committee of
the Cricket Board takes with regard to him making press interviews both here and abroad.
