BCCSL announces details of South African tour

The Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka,yesterday, through its Assistant Secretary, Kushil Gunasekera, released the itinerary for Sri Lanka's 51 day tour of South Africa from 10th December 2000 to 31st January 2001. Sri Lanka will play 3 Tests and 6 ODIs. Sri Lanka and South Africa will meet before that in Sri Lanka in July this year when South Africa tour Sri Lanka for 3 Tests and the tri-nation tournament with Pakistan. South Africa, which is second in international ratings in both Tests and ODIs, faces a severe challange for the second spot from the re-emerging Sri Lankans under the new combination of Sanath Jayasuriya and Dav Whatmore who are third in both forms of the game.
