BCCSL announces details of South African tour
The Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka,yesterday, through its Assistant Secretary, Kushil Gunasekera, released the itinerary for Sri Lanka's 51 day tour of South Africa from 10th December 2000 to 31st January 2001

The Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka,yesterday, through its
Assistant Secretary, Kushil Gunasekera, released the itinerary for Sri
Lanka's 51 day tour of South Africa from 10th December 2000 to 31st
January 2001. Sri Lanka will play 3 Tests and 6 ODIs. Sri Lanka and South
Africa will meet before that in Sri Lanka in July this year when South
Africa tour Sri Lanka for 3 Tests and the tri-nation tournament with
Pakistan. South Africa, which is second in international ratings in both
Tests and ODIs, faces a severe challange for the second spot from the
re-emerging Sri Lankans under the new combination of Sanath Jayasuriya and
Dav Whatmore who are third in both forms of the game.
The following is the tour itinerary :-
December 10th One day limited over match vs Eastern province (PPC Oval Port
Elizabeth) Dec. 12th 13th 14th 3 day match vs Eastern Province (Port
Elizabeth) Dec 17th One day limited over match vs Kwa Zulu-Natal(Chatsworth)
Dec. 19th 20th 21st. 3 day match vs Kwa Zulu-Natal ( Petermaritsberg)
Dec. 26th to 30th First Test ( Durban) January 2001 2nd to 6th Second Test
(Cape Town) January 9th D/N 1st ODI (Paarl) 12th D/N 2nd ODI (Port
Elizabeth) 14th
Day, 3rd ODI (East London) Jan 19th to 23rd Third Test (Centurion) Jan.26th
D/N. 4th ODI ( Johannesburg) 28th D/N/ 5th ODI ( Bloemfontein) 31st 6th ODI
(Cape Town)
