Caddick in new deal
ANDY CADDICK, the England fast bowler, is signing a new contract
with Somerset after accepting an improved offer. He took 67
first-class wickets this year and his decision ends speculation linking him with Glamorgan, Hampshire and Sussex.
Desmond Haynes, the Sussex coach, has urged the county`s players
considering a move to decide. Speculation surrounds the future of Ian Salisbury, the leg spinner, and batsman Martin
Speight, who have been offered new contracts.
Haynes said: "The club has let the players know where they
stand and it is only fair that they do the same. I want to leave
my mark by trying to build something at Sussex and if I am
going to put my plans into place I would like the support of
everyone."
