Sri Lanka must be kicking themselves for upsetting Australia by winning the first match in the VB Series Finals after the wounded hosts roared back to hammer them in the second match, setting up a decider in Brisbane on Tuesday.
Andrew Symonds's magnificent 151 helped the Australians atone for their first match mistakes and bet365 make the home side massive favourites at 1/6 (1.16) to come from behind and take the best-of-three match series.
Having said all that, though, in a one-off contest, Sri Lanka are good value at 7/2 (4.50) to triumph - something far from impossible given the fact that they beat Australia in one group match and in the first game of the Finals.
Interestingly, Brisbane has not been that happy a hunting ground for Australia in one-day internationals. Of the 26 games they have played there, they have won 12 and lost 12, with two no-results. They also lost the only other game of the VB Series there - to South Africa last month.
Symonds may have captured the headlines at the SCG, but captain Ricky Ponting also ht a century on Sunday and the captain is favourite at 7/2 (4.50) with bet365 to be his side's top runscorer in Brisbane. Adam Gilchrist is 4/1 (5.00) and Simon Katich 9/2 (5.50) while Damien Martyn is 5/1 (6.00). Symonds is 11/2 (6.50) for a repeat performance, while Michael Hussey is 13/2 (7.50) and Michael Clarke is 7/1 (8.00).
As for Sri Lanka, Kumar Sangakkara again heads the betting at 7/2 (4.50), just ahead of Sanath Jayasuriya and Marvan Atapattu, who are both 4/1 (5.00). Mahela Jayawardene is 9/2 (5.50), while Tilekeratne Dilshan and Russel Arnold are 6/1 (7.00).
