A book celebrating 125 years of Canterbury cricket is being released this week.
Written by Matthew Appleby, the book, Canterbury Cricket: The 100 Greats, looks at the 100 leading players, umpires, administrators and writers who have lent their expertise to make Canterbury the cornerstone of cricket in New Zealand.
Some of those 'Greats' who occupy the pages are: Walter Hadlee, Jack Kerr, Murray Chapple, Curly Page, Ian Cromb, Bill Patrick, Gordon Leggat, the Reese brothers (Dan, John and Thomas), Graham Dowling, Bevan Congdon, Brian Hastings, John Wright, Sir Richard Hadlee, Dayle Hadlee, Lee Germon, Chris Harris, Stephen Fleming, Chris Cairns, Nathan Astle, Geoff Allott, Craig McMillan.
