Sunday was disappointing for Rohit Sharma, and the league players who were counting on him  •  AFP

India may have lost to England in their game on Sunday, but no such surprises in the Star Wars league - it's still Ian Chappell at the top.
The first game between Ireland and Sri Lanka didn't yield too many points in terms of the Sri Lankan players picked by our league members. Ian had Tillakaratne Dilshan as trump, but Dilshan had a rare off day, yielding just 10, while Sanath Jayasuriya fetched 37. Even though Sambit Bal's team featured the same Sri Lankan players as Ian, he fared slightly better as he had Jayasuriya as trump. Sanjay Manjrekar and David Lloyd got lucky with the Irish players in their team - Sanjay had Kyle McCallan (60), while David had Alex Cusack (137).
The game between India and England was again a low-scoring affair in terms of points. Ian had Rohit Sharma (9), Luke Wright (16) and Ravi Bopara (49), and Pragyan Ojha, who didn't play. While Sambit had Rohit, he also had Gautam Gambhir and Owais Shah, both disappointing, fetching just 26 between them.
Just 162 points separate the top three and we could be heading for a close battle in the games to come.
