Hong Kong have completed a clean sweep of the T20 matches against Cricket NSW development teams on their 10-day tour of Sydney. In the final match of the tour, Hong Kong beat the Cricket NSW Academy XI by 7 runs to complete a 4-0 series result with one match abandoned.
Hong Kong batted first in today's game but could only manage 5-130 from their 20 overs. The Cricket NSW Academy XI looked to be cruising to an easy victory, needing 19 runs off the last 3 overs with six wickets in hand but some excellent bowling at the death by Hong Kong saw them restrict the home side to 6-123 off their 20 overs. Irfan Ahmed was the pick of the Hong Kong bowlers with 2-16 while Haseeb Amjad claimed 1-22 and Moner Ahmed 1-17.
After the match Hong Kong Head Coach tweeted, "Really happy with our tour to Sydney which came to an end with a good win. Great for our WT20Q preparations 2 win 4 T20s against good opp".
He added "Huge thank you to @CricketNSW for the opportunity to play & train on such superb facilities against very good opposition. THANKS :-)" and later "Thanks to @CricketNSW for the great opportunity, facilities and opposition for the HK boys to prepare for the ICC WT20Q next month #cricket".
