Chelsea v Man Utd..
Sunday's clash between Chelsea and Manchester United has all the credentials to be a thriller. Chelsea are unbeaten at home, while United have taken 15 out of a possible 18 away points so far this season. Chelsea have done little wrong recently, with six straight wins, including a 4-0 mauling of Lazio in Rome and a 5-0 demolition of Newcastle. Critics may argue that those wins were achieved against understrength sides, namely a ten-man Italian outfit with a dodgy keeper and a Magpies side without the likes of Alan Shearer and Craig Bellamy. However, there can be little doubt that Chelsea have lit up the Premiership on occasions this season, with their big-name signings contributing to their rise to second place. The addition of Claude Makelele, in particular, has provided a platform for the talents of Damien Duff, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole to shine. Sunday's game will give us a clearer picture of where Chelsea stand in terms of a serious challenge for the Premiership title.

Prices are available for the first one-day international between Pakistan and New Zealand, which starts on Saturday (05.30 GMT). New Zealand were nearly scared off after the bombs that went off during their last visit, and have only travelled this time after the itinerary was changed, amid threats of legal action from the Pakistan board. Several of NZ's top players, however, have stayed at home, and so it is difficult to see them scoring enough runs or bowling Pakistan out - hence a quote of 11/4 for the match and 11/2 for the Series (Pakistan 1/4 and 1/10 respectively).
The highlight of this weekend's action is undoubtedly the Hennessy Gold Cup from Newbury. Ante-post betting on the race has been available for some time, and you might have expected the market to have settled down by now - but far from it. With doubts over several of the leading contenders, mainly because of ground conditions, there have been several market moves, in particular Shardam (now 7/1) and Joss Naylor (8/1). Shardam is from the Twiston-Davies yard, which can do little wrong at the moment, and this lightly weighted gelding looks sure to make his presence felt. The softening ground may go against my original fancy Haut Cercy (14/1), while it is going to be difficult for the novice Strong Flow (11/2) against some more experienced chasers. Breeders Cup heroine Islington is a 4/1 shot for Sunday's Japan Cup.
