ICC announces Development Program Annual Awards 2005 Judging Panel

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the judging panel for the global level of the ICC Development Program Annual Awards for 2005 and invites applications from all 86 of its Associate and Affiliate Member countries

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the judging panel for the global level of the ICC Development Program Annual Awards for 2005 and invites applications from all 86 of its Associate and Affiliate Member countries.
The judging panel will be:
  • Ehsan Mani - ICC President
  • Malcolm Gray - Former ICC President
  • Dr Ali Bacher - Former South African captain and Tournament Director of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003
  • Roger Knight - Secretary of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and member of the ICC Development Committee
There are a total of nine awards available across a range of country and individual categories. Those awards are:
  • Best Overall Cricket Development Program
  • Best Junior Cricket Initiative
  • Best Women's Cricket Initiative
  • Best Cricket Promotional Program
  • Photo of the Year
  • Best Spirit of Cricket Initiative
  • UNAIDS Award
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Lifetime Service Award (awarded in exceptional circumstances)

The nomination process closes on 31 January 2006 and regional winners will be announced on 27 February 2006. The global winners will be announced on 30 March 2006.
The success of the Development Program Awards over the last three years has attracted interest from partners keen to support the development of the sport in emerging countries. This year, cricket equipment manufacturer Kookaburra will join established awards partner Flicx International in rewarding the global winners.
Kookaburra will provide cricket equipment to the winners of the following awards:
  • Best Overall Cricket Development Program
  • Best Women's Cricket Initiative
  • Best Cricket Promotional Program
  • Photo of the Year
  • UNAIDS Award
  • Best Spirit of Cricket Initiative
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Lifetime Service Award (awarded in exceptional circumstances)
Flicx International will donate a Gemini Bowling Machine to the winner of the Best Junior Cricket Award.
