The ICC confirmed today that the Executive Board of ICC Development International Ltd (IDI) will meet at 10am GMT on Friday to discuss a number of issues relating to the forthcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.
The Executive Board will meet by teleconference to address the following matters:
- Signed but altered Player Terms submitted by the BCCI
- Failure of BCCSL to return signed Player Terms before the deadline
- Safety and security in Zimbabwe
- Safety and security in Kenya
A summary of key issues on the agenda:
1. Signed but altered Player Terms submitted by the BCCI
As previously advised, the BCCI has submitted altered player terms to the ICC for the ICC Cricket World Cup. The ICC is yet to confirm if it will accepted the altered contracts.
The Board will be asked to confirm the decision of the World Cup Contracts Committee on this issue.
2. Failure of BCCSL to return signed Player Terms before the deadline
The Board will consider the status of the BCCSL's negotiations with its players over payment for the tournament and progress in signing the player terms.
3. Safety and Security in Zimbabwe
ICC Chief Executive, Malcolm Speed, and ICC Cricket World Cup Director, Dr Ali Bacher, will report on their recent visit to Zimbabwe.
An update will be provided to the Board on the visit. Following this update, there will be the opportunity for any country to reopen the discussion on this matter.
4. Safety and Security in Kenya
The ICC Safety and Security delegation that travelled to Kenya has submitted its report to the Executive Board. The findings of the report will be discussed.
