ICC launches Development Program Annual Awards 2003

The International Cricket Council today launched the ICC Development Program Annual Awards for 2003

The International Cricket Council today launched the ICC Development Program Annual Awards for 2003.
This is the second year of the ICC Development Program Annual Awards (DPAA) which form part of the ICC's commitment to promoting excellence in cricket development. The awards recognise exceptional performance and service to the game in Associate and Affiliate Member countries.
"The ICC was delighted with the positive feedback from the 2002 awards with the regional and global winners receiving excellent recognition and media coverage in their respective countries. The 2003 awards promise to be an even greater success, with increased participation and awareness within the developing countries associated with the ICC," said ICC Development Manager Andrew Eade.
In 2002, the Argentina Cricket Association (ACA) collected the award for the Best Run National Association.
"The ACA was extremely proud to have received the honour of being awarded the first ever Best Run National Association award in 2002. This recognition from the sport's international governing body has meant a great deal to the Argentine cricket community, and continues to serve as an incentive for all of us to continue striving to improve in all spheres of cricket development here in Argentina," said Ricardo Lord, President of Argentine Cricket Association.
The nominations are first received on a regional basis with the regional winners progressing to the global final.
There are a total of eight awards across a range of country and individual categories. Full details of the criteria, nomination process and an application form are available on the official ICC website at www.awards.icc.cricket.org
Nominations close on 5 December 2003 and regional winners will be announced on 5 January 2004. The global winners will be announced on 2 February 2004.
