ICC President and Chief Executive meet with BCB Board

ICC President Ehsan Mani and ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed today met with the full board of the Bangladesh Cricket Board in Dhaka as part of a tour that will take them to all 10 Full Member countries

ICC President Ehsan Mani and ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed today met with the full board of the Bangladesh Cricket Board in Dhaka as part of a tour that will take them to all 10 Full Member countries.
The meeting was the third leg of the tour following on from recent visits to Sri Lanka and West Indies.
Mr Mani explained that this provided an opportunity for the ICC to explain the way it operates to all Board members on home soil and not just those few senior staff that attend ICC meetings.
"Our presentation encompassed the governance of international cricket, the business and finances of the sport and the key global issues that we face in promoting the game while protecting the unique spirit of sport," said Mr Mani.
"We also discussed a number of bilateral issues including the development of cricket in Bangladesh from grass roots to the elite level.
"The ICC remains committed to helping the BCB develop the sport throughout Bangladesh and the meeting has given us a clearer impression of the issues that dominate the domestic agenda."
The President and Chief Executive's 'Roadshow' will continue with visits to New Zealand and Australia in November and England in December. The final four legs in India, Pakistan, South Africa and Zimbabwe will follow in the first half of 2004.
Mr Mani and Mr Speed are also in Bangladesh for the launch of the official logo and trophy of the ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup which takes place later today.
