Karachi, April 4: Former captain Intikhab Alam has been appointed as
match referee for the English summer.
The English summer will start with a two-Test series between England
and Zimbabwe that will be followed up by a triangular one-day
series. In the second half, West Indies will play five Tests against
England.
The international matches start on July 3 and conclude on September
4. "The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had sent my nomination in the
International Cricket Council (ICC) immediately after I resigned as
team coach. The ICC, last week, confirmed my posting in England's home
season," Intikhab said from Lahore.
Intikhab resigned as Pakistan coach after the second Test against Sri
Lanka at Peshawar. When Intikhab was appointed coach in December last
year, he had surrendered his posting in the ICC.
