There will be no gentle introduction to the Caribbean for Bangladesh, as their inaugural tour of the region gets underway on Wednesday against a West Indies Cricket Board XI.
The West Indian selectors have named a squad of 12 for the one-day warm-up game in St Vincent, of which seven players have full international experience.
The side will be led by the Under-19 captain, Denesh Ramdin, and will also feature the left-arm Test bowler, Pedro Collins, who has been bought in as a late replacement for Jason Bennett. Jermaine Lawson, who took a memorable 6 for 3 at Dhaka in December 2002, is also back to open old scars.
Bangladesh have never before sent a full Test team to the Caribbean, although their A squad did tour in 2002. The first of three one-day games begins on Saturday, with two Tests to follow in St Lucia and Jamaica.
