The Liverpool Competition has agreed a three year sponsorship deal with an Ashton in Makerfield building company and will be known as 'the Chelmere Homes Liverpool and District Cricket Competition'.
Having originally been given ECB Premier League status last season, only for the clubs to reject it later on owing to non-satisfaction with the feeder league aspect, the status has been returned and the Competition's Premier Division will be referred to as the ECB Premier Division. The league will continue to play 'time cricket' with matches starting at 1:00 pm with 20 overs from 6:45 pm thus allowing for the possible bowling of a minimum 110 overs. A fines scale has been introduced for slow over rates.
The season begins on April 15th with last year's Merseyside Competition champions, Caldy, making their L&DCC début. Founder members Liverpool and Sefton Park find themselves in the First Division following relegation whilst Lytham and Colwyn Bay move in the opposite direction.
