Majid Khan lauds efforts of cricketers
By Dawn Sports Reporter
LAHORE, May 9: "I salute the national cricketers, who kept their
cool and continued to give away their best during the
three-nation tournament at Sharjah and later in the two-Test
series in Sri Lanka in trying circumstances when all sorts of
charges were being levelled against them through some newspaper
reports"!
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Majid Khan, during
an exclusive interview with this reporter at his residence paid
tributes to the Pakistani players. He said that, being a former
Test cricketer himself, he knew how difficult it was to play
"under such psychological pressure".
Majid Khan said that even the best of players, having strong
nerves and ice-cool temperament, sometimes tend to lose their
patience. "The Pakistani cricketers, were upset by the
'allegations' but none of them breached the Code of Conduct by
issuing any statement. They did not even insist on using their
right of reply in highly provocative circumstances," said the
PCB Chief Executive.
