Media Release - Gavin Larsen Testimonial Match
Basin Reserve, Wellington, New Zealand - Sunday 2 February, 1997
The Gavin Larsen Testimonial Match promises to be one for the record books. Gavin Larsen`s Air New Zealand XI will be pitched against the NewstalkZB International XI in a 40 over match commencing at 12 noon.
Tickets: $15 Adult, $5 Child and $30 Family pass are available through Ticketek outlets.
Included in the day`s play will be the long awaited sequel to the Trevor Chappell/ Brian McKechnie underarm bowling incident. These two players will meet in opposing teams for the first time since 1981 and re-enact the historical moment with a twist that will promise to add a new entry in the record books.
In addition, Zoe Goss and Maia Lewis will be able to provide spectators with a taste of the up and coming Rosebowl Series between New Zealand and Australia.
The Gavin Larsen Testimonial Match promises to deliver another quality event in line with the events run to date. The day will provide a great mix of competitive cricket, fun, music, entertainment and a chance for one spectator to drive away a new Ford Telstar courtesy of Avery Ford.
