Cambridgeshire and Buckinghamshire played out a dull draw at Fenner's as a target of 256 in a minimum 57 overs proved beyond the home side.
Buckinghamshire were bowled out for 261 in their second innings, losing their last five wickets for 39 runs as Alistair Tapp cleaned up the tail with four for 56.
Nigel Gadsby and Simon Kellett, the century-making heroes on day one, fell for 37 and 17 respectively and Cambridgeshire meandered through to the close on 179 for six. It means Ajaz Akhtar's men are one of eight Eastern Division sides yet to taste a championship win this season.
The section has only produced three wins in 20 games so far, compared to 10 from 17 in the Western Division.
