Cambridgeshire's Eastern Division match with Staffordshire petered out into an inevitable stalemate after rain impeded the second day equation at March. The draw means that Staffordshire have now gone 12 seasons without losing to Cambridgeshire.
Four rain stoppages preceded Cambridgeshire's teatime declaration at 204 for three - ex-Essex man Robert Rollins hitting 56 - and Staffordshire were given a minimum 40 overs to chase 227.
They lost Steve Dean for 10 and Laurie Potter for 17 and play was called off midway through the final hour with Staffordshire having reached 93 for three off 34 overs. Tim Tweats was on 31 not out.
In the ECB 38-County Cup, the Surrey Board side secured an easy win over Buckinghamshire, despite a hat-trick from Steve Naylor (three for 64). Tim Carter's 111 not out supervised Surrey home in just 27 overs.
