The next edition of the Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan next year
though the specific month will be decided after ascertaining the
international calendar of the participating countries.
"Pakistan will host the next Asia Cup but the fixtures will be
announced later", Jagmohan Dalmiya, chairman of the Asian Cricket
Foundation (ACF), which implements the Asian Cricket Council's
programmes, told a press conference in Kolkata on Wednesday.
Releasing the ACC's fixtures for senior and junior tournaments,
Dalmiya said that the fixtures were finalised after discussions with
the representatives of all the four Test playing nations at the recent
Lahore conclave.
Dalmiya said that the second edition of the Asian Test Championship
would be held during the period September to February 2002 with
Dhaka's national stadium again hosting the final.
Dalmiya also released the fixtures of the ACC's under-19, under-17 and
under-15 tournaments. The ACC has decided to hold at least two junior
tournaments every year.
Singapore has been selected as the venue for the ACC Trophy in the
year 2002 while either Malaysia or Hong Kong will host the ACC trophy
tournament in the year 2004.
