Darwen face a double date at the seaside this weekend, with Vaux
Northern League and national knockout cup games against Morecambe.
Defending their 100 per cent record, Darwen travel to Morecambe in
the league tomorrow with an unchanged side.
But Sunday's cup tie brings three changes, including a senior debut
for teenage bowler Paul Thompson.
He goes into the side along with Michael Horsfield and Chris Bolton
to replace ineligible professional Richard Petrie and unavailable
Andrew Mercer and Graeme Parkinson.
Skipper Nigel Heaton is looking for a vast improvement from his
Chorley side when Blackpool visit Windsor Park tomorrow in the Vaux
Northern League.
Heaton blasted his players after last Sunday's crushing defeat at the
hands of Sefton Park in the Lancashire Knockout Competition.
And he won't tolerate a repeat against the seasiders as the Windsor
Park men aim to keep their title hopes on track.
"Last week's performance against Sefton was one of the worst I've
seen during my 10 years at the club," said Heaton.
"It's simply not good enough at this level.
"Our batsmen looked like rabbits stuck in front of headlights."
