NZ in Eng : Apr/Jul 94 : Squad

The following 16 players have been selected for the forthcoming tour of England.

BATSMEN: Ken Rutherford (c), Martin Crowe, Blair Hartland, Blair Pocock, Bryan Young, Mark Greatbatch, Steve Fleming. KEEPER: Adam Parore. BOWLERS: Danny Morrison, Chris Pringle, Simon Doull, Dion Nash, Heath Davis, Matthew Hart. ALL-ROUNDERS: Gavin Larsen (vc), Shane Thomson.

This squad is the same as the 12 currently playing at Hamilton PLUS Crowe, Pocock, Davis, and Doull. The only new cap is Heath Davis (Wellington), who is the fastest bowler in NZ. A wicket taker, he is often wayward and has no-ball problems but is enormously effective at his best. Bryan Young, of course, can fill in as no. 2 keeper. There are some unlucky players (as always) but the only surprise is the selection of Gavin Larsen as vice captain. He has captaincy experience with Wellington at 1st class level. Martin Crowe made himself available as a player only.
